Dear all;
Because of
the negative development on the European marked since one year, I believe it’s
my duty as a European booking agent to start with some new ideas and project’s, who might help everybody in the near future.
You all are
aware of the fact, that record sell, as well as the attendance on live show’s
are retrograding more, year after year, and because the bad economical
situation in most European territories, a change for the better in the near
future will not be expected.
To present
new, unknown act’s is getting nearly impossible, unleast
the record company is coming up with massive promotion and tour support.
Local
promoter’s all over Europe are not willing to pay high guarantee anymore, not
to talk about the production requirements, which are, in most cases far over
the top, especially for unknown bands.
It’s
getting very frustrating to see band with good potential playing in front of
100 or less people per night, and making promoter losing a lot of money, show
by show.
Nevertheless,
it’s important to build up new act’s, and present them
to the market.
Some of
them are lucky, and getting on a good support spot before they start touring by
themselves, but many are not able to have such opportunities.
Because of
all this, I like to suggest the idea of package touring to all of you, like a
kind of a record lable representation for all of
It should
be three bands all together, with one well known act as headliner, who is able
to pull at least 400-500 people by themselves, one act in the middle, who has
been in Europe before, but not able to draw more as 120-180 people, and one
unknown act on the first place.
The total
travel party should not more as 12-14 people, all
three band should also use the same crew, as well as transportation / night
liner, and as far as possible same gear.
The tour
should be not longer as two – three week’s, and hit only major town’s per territory, like following:
Kopenhagen
Goetsburg
Kohn
Stuggart
Munchen
Milano
I
understand that setting up a tour such as I suggest to you, will not be easy.
It has to fit musical, all three band’s should know each other, since they have
to spend some time together with hardly any privacy, and last not least, there
is a management who might not like idea at all, or has done other commitments
already.
Apart from
all this, I think that some of you have been done thought’s like I do, and I
also strongly believe that we will be able to set you a package, which will
cost less money on a production point of view, and which will help to present
some of your act’s much better as before.
Feel free
to come back to me with any idea’s, whatsoever.
I am
looking forward to hear from you soon.
best
regards,
