Take a forty-five r.p.m. power ballad, slow it down to thirty-three & a third, make it exceedingly gloomy, and now you’ve got Idaho’s Year After Year. The press wants you to think Idaho is along the lines of Chicago’s Seam, but that’s more than wishful thinking – that’s an outright lie. After spinning this a few times, I knew I didn’t enjoy this album, but thought it might be a good cure for insomnia. I tried sleeping to this album, but kept having dreams of a slow-motion world where Andre the Giant keeps saying “Whooooo siiiiiigned thiiiiiiiis baaaaannnnnd?” These guys make Alice In Chains sound peppy.
