Most of “Idaho” Boring and
Depressing
review by eric johnson
Idaho:
Year After Year
Idaho
is a California band made up of John Berry and Jeff Martin. The two have been working off and on together for 10 years and have released a couple of E.P.s.
The
band’s sound is slow and subdued with Martin’s vocals offering another slightly
soothing sound to the mix. The album starts on a positive feeling with “God’s
Green Earth,” but quickly winds down into a depressing mode which seems to last
forever. The group drags its feet through-out most of the album, which is both
boring and depressing.
Songs
like “Gone” sound like death metal slowed down. The only other upswing in the
effort is “One Sunday,” which is as close to a single as Idaho gets. Once
again, however, things wind down and begin dragging through to the end of the
album.
