This morose duo has grafted the slowcore sting of Codeine to the melancholy musings of Mark Eitzel. A pretty concise appraisal on my part, but see if you don’t agree. As such, I’m pretty fond of this band. Not a sunny-sky kinda record, but thru sadness comes only better things. Lush backdrops of hard-hitting sound provide the foil for Jeff Martin’s resonant voice. Feedback serves as the third member, often creating the very backbone of the music. Idaho’s music is minimal and overtly depressing, but within the framework of those words come infinite possibility and interpretation.
