Lastly we
reach Idaho. Being born from the likes of Codeine and the Swans, Idaho has the goods. Take a beat-to-hell
fender and strap it to a Mac truck. Take a brand new polished piano and put it
on a fork lift. And then set them at opposite ends of a long interstate and in
the middle have a lonely, deep-voiced street poet. Start your engines. Crash!
Among the rubble you should find Idaho.
“Year After
Year” is a slow, painful emotion in a minimal Galaxie
500 sort of way. Jeff Martin (bass, vocals, four string guitar and drums) along
with John Berry (guitars, electric and acoustic, feedback, and drums) and few
other in and out drummers have created a product so real and unforgiving that
it makes you cold to listen.
